Role Summary
As a Service Operations Manager, you will oversee the technical compliance of our Electrical, Gas, Fire Safety, and Asbestos services. While the day-to-day operational tasks are not part of this role, you will maintain a supervisory connection with all technical teams to ensure adherence to current regulations and best practices. You will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of senior supervisors and trade operatives, emphasizing operational excellence and performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the Principal Duty Holder for electrical registrations.
- Ensure all employed and contracted gas engineers are registered with the appropriate safety authority.
- Oversee registrations, inspections, audits, and related responsibilities.
- Verify that all technical operatives possess the necessary qualifications and training.
- Conduct audits to ensure compliance with legislation and best practices in collaboration with supervisors.
- Stay informed about changes in regulations and communicate updates to technical staff through various channels.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure adequate technical resources are available to meet operational demands.
- Engage with clients, suppliers, contractors, and colleagues to foster effective communication and collaboration.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance productivity and service delivery.
Candidate Profile:
- Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
- Current IOSH / Managing Safely certification.
- Valid driving license.
- Strong numeracy, literacy, and communication skills.
- Proficient in IT applications.
- Knowledge of Health & Safety regulations.
- Familiarity with Asbestos policies and procedures.
- Experience in risk assessments and method statements.
- Proven track record in managing diverse teams.
- Experience in project management and execution.
- Understanding of pricing schedules.
- Ability to prepare and present operational and commercial reports.
- Competence in interpreting risk assessments and method statements.
- Ability to meet deadlines and performance targets.
- Proven leadership skills to motivate and manage teams effectively.
