Job Summary

This is a senior leadership role that requires a high level of expertise in genomics and innovation. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to the Genomics Innovation Team, working closely with stakeholders across the NHS and industry partners.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive genomics innovation strategy that aligns with the NHS Genomics Strategy
  • Lead the coordination of genomics research and innovation projects across the NHS Genomics Alliance region
  • Work closely with the East Genomics Executive Board and the NHS Genomics Alliance Partnership Board to ensure effective management of the genomic research programme
  • Coordinate the NHS Genomics Alliance input into life sciences initiatives, including the Genomics England spending review initiatives
  • Drive the NHS Genomics Alliance support for and recruitment to clinical trials
Requirements
  • PhD level or equivalent in a relevant field
  • Proven leadership experience in managing teams and delivering transformational change at scale
  • Experience of working in genomics or life sciences in the NHS
  • Strong understanding of the UK research funding landscape
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
