About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Biomedical Scientist to join our team as a Quality Lead in our Histopathology department. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety in our diagnostic services.

Main Responsibilities
  • Lead the quality assurance program in the Histopathology department, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy and reliability of diagnostic test results.
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to identify and resolve quality issues, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to laboratory staff on quality procedures and protocols.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of laboratory policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Biomedical Science or a related field.
  • HCPC registration with at least 5 years of post-registration experience in a UKAS accredited clinical histopathology laboratory.
  • Experience with quality management systems (QMS) and root cause analysis.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and guide laboratory staff.
  • Advanced technical and scientific knowledge of diagnostic histopathology, with a focus on immunohistochemistry.
