Job Title: Driver/Porter

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Driver/Porter to join our Portering Services Department at the Royal Hospital for Neuro-disability. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing transportation services to patients, as well as assisting with portering duties across the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive patients safely to various destinations, including appointments and outings.
  • Assist with portering duties, including moving equipment and supplies, and collecting and removing waste.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Work collaboratively with the Portering and Transport Supervisor to ensure smooth operations.
  • Participate in mandatory training and adhere to hospital policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Able to contribute to the Portering Services department/organisational aims and objectives.
  • Hold a full and clean driving licence with D1.
  • Able to engage with the RHN IPR process that identifies own personal and development training needs.
  • Able to conduct oneself in a professional manner towards all service users and management.
  • Understand the importance of ensuring confidentiality at all times in accordance with data protection, Hospital policy and good practice.
  • Be reliable, willing, and conscientious, with the ability to work flexibly either individually or as part of a team.
  • Be experienced in or able to demonstrate a good understanding of excellent customer service, together with good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Be punctual/a good timekeeper.
  • Be able to problem-solve with support/use own initiative.
  • Have the ability to be reflective and self-critical and be able to take constructive criticism positively.
  • To be able to read and understand, to the required standard.
