Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated professional to take on the role of Senior Emergency Nurse within our dynamic Emergency Department.

We invite experienced nursing professionals to become part of our team. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication and leadership abilities, along with a strong desire to enhance emergency and acute nursing practices. You will play a crucial role in overseeing patient flow within the department while applying your advanced nursing expertise.

The successful candidates will be proactive and innovative, with a commitment to improving patient care and safety in urgent, emergency, and acute care settings. In addition to outstanding clinical capabilities, a solid understanding of care pathways and the patient journey is essential, as well as a strong emphasis on communication, safe discharge planning, and secure patient transfers.

Key Responsibilities

Adhere to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional standards to serve as a designated nurse (or key worker) for a specific group of patients, taking responsibility for: Safeguarding and promoting the health of individual patients and clients Evaluating care and health education requirements Designing, implementing, and assessing care programs, including discharge planning for each patient Taking charge of the ward/department regularly in the absence of the individual with ongoing responsibility Complying with the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy and Core Standards Maintaining effective communication Delivering a high standard of holistic, patient-centered care Acting as a facilitator/mentor/preceptor to student nurses and others, and engaging in clinical supervision programs as appropriate
