As the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCo), you will be instrumental in ensuring that every student receives the necessary support to excel both academically and socially.

SENCo Responsibilities
  • Full Time Position
  • Temporary to Permanent Contract
  • Competitive Salary - Paid to Scale with Additional SEN Allowance and TLR
In your role as the
Primary SENCo, you will:


Strategic Leadership:

Take the lead in designing, implementing, and assessing effective strategies aimed at supporting the educational and developmental needs of children with special educational requirements.

Collaboration with Educators:

Partner closely with classroom educators to cultivate inclusive learning environments and modify teaching approaches to accommodate the varied needs of our students.

Personalized Support Plans:
Create and manage individualized support plans, ensuring they are specifically tailored to each child's unique strengths and challenges.

Engagement with Families:

Build strong relationships with parents and guardians, providing regular updates on their child's progress and offering advice on how they can assist their child's learning at home.

Staff Training and Development:

Offer continuous training and support for staff to enhance their understanding of special educational needs, promoting a culture of inclusivity within the educational community.

Accessible Curriculum:

Work alongside curriculum leaders to ensure our curriculum is both accessible and adaptable to meet the diverse needs of all learners.

Assessment and Improvement:

Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provisions, gathering and analyzing data to make informed decisions and enhance support services continuously.

Leadership in SEN:

Take on a leadership role within the institution, advocating for the rights of students with special educational needs and promoting inclusive practices.
