Nursery Assistant (Full-Time) Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Assistant to join our team at a nursery school in a supportive and friendly environment. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the planning and delivery of engaging activities that promote learning and development in young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Planning and Delivery of Activities: Assist in planning and delivering engaging and age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Day-to-Day Care of Children: Assist with the day-to-day care of children, including feeding, changing, and ensuring their overall well-being.
  • Foster a Positive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive environment where each child feels valued and supported.
  • Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with the Nursery Teacher and other staff to monitor and assess the progress of children, providing feedback and support where needed.
  • Communication with Parents: Build strong relationships with parents and carers, keeping them informed about their child's progress and development.
  • Nursery Maintenance: Ensure the nursery is a safe, clean, and welcoming space at all times.
  • Resource Preparation: Contribute to the preparation of learning materials and the organisation of resources.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualifications: A relevant qualification in Early Years Education or Childcare (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3, CACHE Level 3, or equivalent).
  • Experience: Experience working with young children in a nursery, preschool, or similar setting.
  • Passion for Child Development: A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Proactive Attitude: A proactive and positive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Paediatric First Aid: Paediatric First Aid qualification.
  • Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework: Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience working within a school environment.
