ROLE: Mechanical Design Engineer

Premier Engineering is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in the Aerospace industry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience in designing SPM and electromechanical products and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop mechanical components and systems using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, and AutoCAD.
  • Liaise with manufacturing providers to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Be involved in the final assembly of products and create technical documentation.
  • Update 3D models and drawings, and input parts into the MRP system to create BOMs.
  • Check drawings for sign off and work collaboratively with a small multi-disciplinary team on varied projects.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years' experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering position.
  • Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar.
  • Experience designing SPM / electromechanical products and systems would be ideal.
  • Experience in Defence / Space / Aerospace or similar would also be beneficial.
  • Proficient using 3D CAD software and good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerances.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and proficient using MS Office.
  • Excellent organisational skills and time management skills, with the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary team.
