We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Care Services Team Leader to join our team at Leicestershire County Council. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
Key Responsibilities- Line manage a team of support staff, providing regular supervision and ensuring staff are equipped with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their roles.
- Develop and implement effective audit systems to maintain high-quality services and ensure outcome-focused care and support.
- Identify risks, complete risk assessments, and have a good knowledge of safeguarding procedures.
- Provide direct care and support to individuals who use our services, motivating and supporting our committed team to promote the right values and celebrate individuality and diversity.
- Ensure the safe storage, organisation, administration, and documentation of medication at the establishment, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
- Demonstrate a commitment to providing high-quality care and support, maximising independence.
- Be responsive to meet the changing needs of a 24/7 service, working flexibly and participating in a staff rota that incorporates weekends and bank holidays.
- Assist with the moving and handling of individuals using available equipment.
- Have supervisory/managerial experience or suitable level of experience in a social care setting.
- Analyse information to reach defensible decisions, demonstrating the use of risk management tools.
- Manage the referral process for the support service, assessing new referrals and making joint decisions with the Registered Manager regarding placements.
- Demonstrate sound regulatory knowledge of the Fundamental Standards set by the Care Quality Commission.
We will provide the training and support you need to excel in your role, with a team behind you to mentor, coach, and support your journey. We will also meet the training costs and the DBS enhanced check (Adults Barred List) for a regulated activity required for this post.
