About the Position:

The Commonwealth of Virginia is in search of a committed professional to join our team as a Child Welfare Services Coordinator. In this capacity, you will be tasked with examining cases related to child maltreatment, engaging in Family Team Meetings, delivering case management services, and safeguarding the welfare of at-risk individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting interviews and investigations into cases
  • Providing urgent protective services
  • Offering testimony in judicial proceedings
  • Facilitating placements of children in foster or adoptive homes
  • Creating service plans and overseeing adherence
  • Transporting children to appointments and visitations
  • Delivering parental education and support
  • Engaging in outreach and connecting with community resources
  • Participating in after-hours on-call duties
  • Maintaining contact with professionals through regular visits

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Services discipline or equivalent experience
  • Understanding of social work methodologies and practices
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to perform under pressure
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in Child Welfare Services
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Social Work
  • Virginia Social Worker certification
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish
  • Familiarity with the Family Team Meeting approach

Additional Requirements:
