If you are driven by a desire to make a difference, we would love to hear from you. There truly is a role for everyone here.

ROLE OVERVIEW

Our Water Quality and Environment (WQ and E) team is looking for individuals to join us as Regulatory Compliance Reporting Specialists.

As a key subject matter expert within the team, you will lead critical initiatives, ensuring the organization meets evolving external reporting requirements. The role necessitates a deep understanding of complex regulatory frameworks, enabling you to translate these into actionable guidelines for operational teams.

You will also be a vital part of our culture of continuous improvement, always on the lookout for ways to enhance our reporting and compliance standards. We seek candidates with a robust background in regulatory reporting, particularly those experienced in managing large, complex datasets and swiftly identifying compliance anomalies and risks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Championing gold standard compliance throughout the year, adapting to both internal and external demands swiftly.
  • Ensuring effective processes and procedures are in place to consistently deliver compliance and maintain a strong audit trail for high-quality annual returns.
  • Utilizing large datasets from diverse sources to diagnose issues, identify trends, and highlight compliance risks.
  • Taking ownership of minor improvement opportunities, assessing their potential, collaborating with key stakeholders, and implementing enhancements as necessary.
  • Analyzing and interpreting complex regulatory frameworks, converting them into actionable guidelines for operational teams.
  • Driving adherence to operational processes and guidelines through exception reporting and influencing senior stakeholders and frontline teams.
  • Collaborating with broader business teams to develop, enhance, and adapt compliance dashboards to meet changing demands.
  • Serving as the subject matter expert for all aspects of regulatory compliance reporting.
  • Identifying and promoting opportunities for improvements in our environmental performance measures.

Qualifications and Skills:

We are looking for our Regulatory Compliance Reporting Specialist to possess experience in external assurance and regulatory reporting, as well as the ability to drive improvement initiatives from insight to implementation. You should be adept at engaging with stakeholders at various levels, working collaboratively across teams and departments to achieve desired outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you should be capable of translating complex technical and regulatory information into clear communication for operational teams and senior stakeholders.

Ideally, you will have a solid technical understanding of waste processes, including networks and wastewater recycling.

Additionally, you should possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical and diagnostic abilities, and exceptional attention to detail.

As travel may be necessary, a full UK driving license is required.

While the right skills and experience are crucial, we also value character, positivity, and a caring attitude.

We celebrate individuality and welcome people from all walks of life, as we know diverse minds, experiences, and backgrounds enhance our ability to learn and better serve our communities. We seek individuals who are engaged and eager to contribute to something greater, motivated by a desire to make a positive impact.

BENEFITS:

Working with us is more than just a job; it’s a career at Severn Trent, and we recognize and reward your contributions. We offer a variety of benefits that acknowledge outstanding work, along with award-winning training to help you reach your full potential. Additionally, we support your efforts to care for the environment and the communities we serve.

Here are some of the benefits you can enjoy as part of the Severn Trent family:
