ROLE OVERVIEW

Our Water Quality and Environment team is looking for individuals to join us as Regulatory Compliance Reporting Specialists.

In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert, leading initiatives to ensure compliance with evolving external reporting requirements. You will need to interpret complex regulatory frameworks and translate them into actionable guidelines for operational teams.

Additionally, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, always seeking ways to enhance our reporting and compliance standards. We are looking for candidates with a strong background in regulatory reporting, particularly those experienced in managing large, complex datasets and identifying compliance risks swiftly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure top-tier compliance throughout the year, adapting to both internal and external demands.
  • Establish effective processes and procedures to consistently deliver compliance and maintain a robust audit trail for high-quality annual returns.
  • Analyze large datasets from various sources to identify issues, trends, and compliance risks.
  • Take ownership of small improvement initiatives, collaborating with key stakeholders to secure buy-in and implement enhancements.
  • Interpret complex regulatory frameworks and translate them into actionable guidelines for operational teams.
  • Drive adherence to operational processes through exception reporting and influence senior stakeholders and frontline teams.
  • Collaborate with other business teams to develop and refine compliance dashboards to meet changing demands.
  • Act as the subject matter expert for all aspects of regulatory compliance reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in our Environmental Performance Assessment measures.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

We are seeking candidates with experience in external assurance and regulatory reporting, as well as a proven track record of delivering improvement initiatives from insight to implementation. You should be adept at engaging with stakeholders at various levels and working collaboratively across teams to achieve results.

Successful candidates will be able to simplify complex technical and regulatory information for operational teams and senior stakeholders alike.

Ideally, you will possess a solid understanding of waste processes, including networks and wastewater recycling.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and meticulous attention to detail are essential.

As travel may be necessary, a full UK driving license is required.

While skills and experience are crucial, we also value character, positivity, and a caring attitude.
