Job Summary

Cheltenham & Gloucester Hospitals Charity is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Fundraiser to join our team. As a key member of our Income Generation team, you will play a vital role in growing diverse income streams, including community fundraising, events, challenges, and organisational partnerships.

Main Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a community fundraising plan to increase income and engagement in the community.
  • Work closely with the Head of Income Generation, charity team members, hospital staff, and supporters to achieve income targets and enhance the care of local patients and NHS staff wellbeing.
  • Lead on community fundraising income streams, including events, challenges, and organisational partnerships, to meet income and non-income targets.
  • Develop and manage a volunteering programme to recruit and retain volunteers, engaging them with the charity's work and developing a programme of volunteering opportunities.
  • Build relationships with community groups, schools, sports clubs, and community organisations to grow income and engagement.
  • Develop and implement a fundraising volunteer plan to recruit and retain volunteers, engaging them with the charity's work and developing a programme of volunteering opportunities.
  • Work closely with the Marketing and Communications Officer to produce content for internal communications, case studies, and press releases, social media content, radio and TV interviews, and drafting print materials for community fundraising initiatives.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • GCSE Level or equivalent Grade C English, or equivalent (National Adult Certificate Level 2 Literacy) and Mathematics Grade C or equivalent (National Adult Certificate Level 1 Numeracy).
  • Desirable:
    • Experience in fundraising and community fundraising.
    • Experience in developing and delivering projects and initiatives for growth, planning activities, and measuring the return on investment.
    • Experience of developing a programme to grow community and events income, with recruitment of new and retention of existing supporters.
    • Experience of developing and managing a volunteering programme to facilitate charity income generation.
    • Awareness of best fundraising practice (including the Fundraising Standards Board Codes of Fundraising Practice). Knowledge of GDPR and data protection, with discretion when dealing with confidential data.
