The Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service is pivotal within the city-region, recognized as one of the leading fire and rescue services nationwide, ensuring local communities receive a modern and dependable service.
As one of the largest fire and rescue services in England, it spans 493 square miles and serves a diverse population of 2.8 million residents, alongside numerous visitors and workers in the area.
This established position presents an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and forward-thinking team. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing a series of internal and external engagement events for GMFRS, managing all aspects from tactical support to leading communications and marketing initiatives.
The ideal applicant will create enriching experiences for both colleagues and community members. This role is crucial in advancing the Fire Plan's objective of fostering a culture of excellence, equality, and inclusivity. It also contributes to the ongoing development of the Rewards and Recognition Framework for GMFRS employees, aiding the Service in attracting and retaining top talent while building a workforce that mirrors the communities it serves.
About You
The successful candidate should possess expertise in communications, engagement, marketing, events management, or a related field, with a proven history of orchestrating successful events. You will demonstrate a strong track record of delivering high-quality experiences for both internal and external stakeholders and excel in cultivating and managing relationships with diverse organizations. Your experience should include managing multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to tight deadlines, along with the ability to maintain composure and authority under pressure.
