Position Overview:

This role presents a unique opportunity within a distinguished Communications and Engagement team at the forefront of local governance. As a key player, you will oversee specialized corporate, stakeholder, and workforce communications and engagement at a managerial level. Your responsibilities will encompass the execution of strategies pertinent to Greater Manchester's devolution initiatives and related organizational transformations.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Communications and Engagement (Corporate Communications), you will collaborate with significant stakeholders, including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and council leaders. Your efforts will ensure that our initiatives and the devolution powers that drive them are acknowledged and comprehended by colleagues, partners, and the public.

Additionally, you will coordinate the team's delivery of expert corporate and internal communications guidance, particularly for complex or high-profile matters affecting directorate or policy-focused teams.

Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of corporate communications methodologies, developed within a political context, supported by both theoretical understanding and practical experience.

You will demonstrate a commitment to embodying our organizational values, producing outstanding communications and engagement materials, and fostering collaborative leadership that builds strong relationships. You will lead and motivate a team to achieve their objectives while also enhancing their professional skills. Confidence in navigating a complex, fast-paced, and politically sensitive environment while adhering to tight deadlines is essential.

We seek an adaptable individual who can effectively manage uncertainty and change while maintaining a professional, composed, and efficient demeanor.

Our recruitment process is designed to ensure fair and consistent treatment for all applicants, including the consideration of reasonable adjustments for individuals with disabilities.

Our Commitment:

In recognition of your contributions, we offer a competitive benefits package that can be explored further through our official channels.
