Position Overview:

This role presents a remarkable opportunity within a distinguished Communications and Engagement division at the forefront of local governance. In this essential position, you will deliver specialized corporate, stakeholder, and workforce communications and engagement at a managerial capacity. Your responsibilities will encompass the execution of strategies pertinent to Greater Manchester's devolution trailblazer agreement and related organizational transformation initiatives.

Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Communications and Engagement (Corporate Communications), you will collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and council leaders. Your efforts will ensure that our initiatives and the devolution powers driving them are acknowledged and comprehended by colleagues, partners, and the public.

Additionally, you will oversee the team's provision of expert corporate and internal communications guidance and execution for communications and engagement professionals working within directorate or policy-focused teams, particularly concerning more intricate or high-profile matters.


Candidate Profile:

The ideal applicant will possess specialized expertise in corporate communications methodologies, strategies, and protocols, honed within a political context and supported by both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

You will be dedicated to embodying our values, crafting outstanding communications and engagement materials, and serving as a collaborative leader capable of fostering relationships. Your leadership will inspire a team to both achieve objectives and enhance their professional skills. You will also demonstrate confidence in navigating a complex, fast-paced, and politically sensitive environment while adhering to tight deadlines.
