Our client, a leading manufacturer and distributor of windows and door hardware, is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Business Development Manager to join their team. The successful candidate will join their small sales office, currently consisting of 4 individuals, and will be responsible for cross-selling products to existing customers.

This is a full-time position, working Monday-Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm, based in a dynamic and fast-paced sales environment.

Package:

  • Company pension scheme
  • Salary £30,000 - £35,000 (DOE)

Business Development Manager - Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify new business opportunities, including new markets, products, and services, or new ways of reaching existing markets
  • Seek out the appropriate contact in an organization and update our database
  • Establish contact and generate opportunities
  • Develop relationships with customers to encourage repeat business
  • Understand the needs of your customers and be able to communicate that in-house
  • Discuss promotional strategy and activities with the marketing department
  • Liaise with the finance team, warehousing, and logistics departments as appropriate to ensure customer satisfaction is met
  • Work with the Estimator to establish customer pricing and margins
  • Manage your pipeline and provide activity and sales forecasts
  • Provide customer feedback

Business Development Manager - Requirements:

  • Experience in a commercial environment is advantageous (manufacturing/construction)
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role (account management, customer retention, business development, etc.)
  • A strong analytical mindset capable of analyzing customer accounts and identifying opportunities
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to transform customer conversations into business-driving relationships
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • The ability to work as part of a small team
  • A pleasant and confident telephone manner
