About the Role

The City Centre Manager will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and vitality of Aberdeen city centre for all users. This will involve frequent engagement with the public, visitors, and businesses, as well as leading on liaison between and within the Council, economic regeneration activity, and enhancing the competitiveness of the City.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the city centre's quality and vitality
  • Engage with stakeholders, including businesses, residents, and visitors, to understand their needs and concerns
  • Lead on economic regeneration activity, including business development and partnership working
  • Enhance the competitiveness of the City, including developing its position as a resilient and adaptable leading commercial and cultural centre in Scotland
  • Manage complex and strategic partnerships between Elected Members, Board Members, and other similar stakeholder groups
  • Produce compelling business cases and public-facing Committee and Council reports
  • Experience of procurement and contract management with consultants
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage a diverse workload and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge and experience of the different sectors in the city centre – retail, hospitality, and commercial
  • Evidence of working with, and achieving service change, in the business community and public sector
