About the Role

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Specialist to join our team at BT Group. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security posture of our network management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk-based connectivity assessments for intra-BT and third-party connections to identify potential vulnerabilities.
  • Develop and implement mitigation controls to reduce the risk of security breaches.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure security controls are factored into architectural decisions and design implementations.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance on security governance, approvals, and policy for corporate applications and firewall estate.
  • Identify security risks and develop mitigation controls to reduce the possibility of risks occurring.
  • Responsible for auditing and correcting user access provision.

Requirements

  • Experience in connecting different technologies, networks, systems, and applications both internally and externally.
  • Understanding of complete end-to-end assessment of system security, from end-user access to server technical compliance.
  • Access control policy knowledge, design, and understanding of roles and responsibilities in a technical role.
  • Technical background in large-scale network and IT environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical requirements to a diverse group of customers with differing technical skill levels.

  • Good understanding of large-scale networks and security controls.
  • Membership of a pertinent security/technology professional body.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills to ensure technical risks are fully understood and mitigation solutions can be correctly identified and implemented.
  • Proven strong customer-facing skills.
  • Efficient problem-solving skills in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as under minimal supervision.
  • Time management skills.
