About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Security Architect to join our team at BT Group. As a key member of our security team, you will play a critical role in maintaining the security posture of our network management systems.

This is a hybrid role that requires a unique blend of technical expertise and business acumen. You will work closely with our deployment teams to establish workable solutions and designs, providing feedback on issues identified for new deployments and legacy migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support deployment teams to establish workable solutions and designs.
  • Engage in stakeholder reviews for complex issues, managing interdependencies between applications and security domains.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance across BT Group for Security Governance, approvals, and policy for all corporate applications and firewall estate.
  • Identify security risks, develop mitigation controls, and ensure security controls are factored into BT's architectural decisions.
  • Responsible for the auditing and correction of user access provision.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Experience of connecting different technologies, networks, systems, and applications both internally and externally.
  • Understanding of complete end-to-end assessment of system security, from end-user access to server technical compliance.
  • Access control policy knowledge, design, and understanding of roles and responsibilities in a technical role.
  • Technical background in large-scale network and IT environments.
  • The ability to communicate technical requirements to a diverse group of customers with differing technical skill levels.

Desirable Skills

While not essential, the following skills would be beneficial:

  • A good understanding of large-scale networks and security controls.
  • Membership of a pertinent security/technology professional body.
  • Demonstrable analytical skills to ensure technical risks are fully understood and mitigation solutions can be correctly identified and implemented.
  • Proven strong customer-facing skills.
  • Efficient problem-solving skills in an enterprise environment.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as under minimal supervision.
  • Time management skills.
