About the Role

Climax Studios, a leading creative force in independent game development, is seeking an experienced Senior Environment Artist to join our team in Edinburgh. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for creating innovative and visually stunning environments for AAA titles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conceive, create, and implement high-quality environment art for AAA games.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive and engaging game experiences.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of current-gen technology and artistic techniques.
  • Manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality results.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
  • At least 4+ years of experience in console development with at least 2 shipped titles.
  • Effective visual and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent resource management and judgment.
  • Comfortable liaising with clients and presenting in a professional manner.
  • Self-motivated, friendly, and gregarious with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management and deadline management skills.
  • 2-3 years of experience developing and implementing solid art production pathways.
  • The ability to find creative solutions when troubleshooting and assessing risks.
  • A good understanding of cutting-edge artistic techniques and tools.
Desirable Skills
  • Creative and self-motivated.
  • Strong and versatile modeling skills.
  • Experience using Maya, Unreal 4, Unity, Substance, and ZBrush.
  • Experience setting up LODs.
  • Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills.
  • An artistic education to at least graduate level.
  • A strong folio including examples of realistic modeling and environment art.
