Senior Bioinformatician Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Bioinformatician to join our growing team at Warman O'Brien, a pioneering Biotechnology company. This role will be instrumental in advancing our research and development efforts, collaborating closely with our team of scientists and experts to drive innovation and progress.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and improve our bioinformatics capabilities, including new workflows and tools required for target and drug discovery.
  • Establish, implement, and manage a robust and scalable bioinformatics data storage system, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Develop and process bioinformatics pipelines, working independently to deliver high-quality results.
  • Communicate results clearly to bench and dry lab collaborators, partners, and the wider team.
Essential Qualifications:
  • PhD in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, or Computer Science, with relevant experience in transcriptomics analyses.
  • Significant experience with mammalian genomics and transcriptomics, including prior experience in human genomics.
  • Experience with long read RNA sequencing data analysis and implementing NGS analysis pipelines for single-cell RNA sequencing, differential gene expression, and splicing analysis/isoform discovery.
  • Highly proficient in computing languages, including R and/or Python, and statistical tools for biological interpretations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high-quality data within deadline-driven workflows.
