Job Title: Business Tutor at HMP Thameside

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Business Tutor to join our team at HMP Thameside. As a Business Tutor, you will play a crucial role in helping our learners develop their business acumen and gain further skills in how to successfully set up and run a business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver high-quality lessons in how to run your own business.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
  • Assess learner needs and develop individualized learning plans.
  • Monitor learner progress and provide constructive feedback.
  • Support learners in achieving their SFEDI (Small Firms Enterprise Development Initiative) qualifications.
  • Teach the SFEDI business course.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure the best possible outcomes for all learners.
  • Stay up to date with curriculum changes and best practices in education.
Requirements:
  • A teaching qualification OR subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
  • Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
  • Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism.
  • Gain/hold and maintain a clean, enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
