We are seeking a dedicated and passionate English Tutor to join our team at Novus, our prison education provider at HMP Thameside. As a Tutor, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to learners, supporting them to achieve their goals and unlock their full potential.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and deliver engaging and effective education programs that meet contractual requirements and standards.
- Support learners and colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for all.
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- A teaching qualification or subject specialist qualification at Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) with a commitment to obtain the relevant outstanding Level 4 (Level 5 - new standards) qualification within a specified time scale.
- Hold at least a Level 2 qualification in Literacy and Numeracy.
- Track record of effective teaching in subject specialism.
- Extensive annual leave which can be taken throughout the year and not restricted to school holiday times.
- Monday to Friday working pattern.
- Our in-house 'Evolve' training programme, which offers you the chance to upskill and further your career through a wide range of recognised qualifications.
- Support through a teacher training qualification and assessor qualifications.
- Full package of training to support working in a Prison environment.
