About the Role
Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Directorate Lead Dietitian to join our team. As a key member of our clinical leadership team, you will be responsible for the development of clinical services across the Adult Learning Disability outpatient services in Bromley, Bexley, and Greenwich.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction to the development of an ALD Dietetic Service.
- Provide direct line management and operational support to any additional ALD dietetic post holders recruited to in the future.
- To provide an efficient and highly specialist dietetic service for service users including the involvement of paid and unpaid carers.
- To work closely with internal and external stakeholders on the development of robust cross-organisation pathways.
- The post holder will identify and hold a small caseload for short targeted work of adult clients who have a learning disability where their needs are identified as best being met outside of other services.
- To demonstrate highly specialist knowledge in the area of Dietetics, underpinned by current evidence based practice.
- To work in a variety of locations across the 3 boroughs.
- To plan and prioritise the workload.
- To undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients including those with diverse or complex presentations/multi-pathologies in order to identify their problems and needs and ensure that patient's medical, biochemical, pharmacological, psychological, social environmental and cultural factors are taken into account.
- To communicate effectively with a range of health and care staff working in tertiary, secondary and primary care along with patients and carers, to support the ability of patients to remain safely in their home.
- To be responsible for recruitment and selection, appraisals, formulation of personal development plans, attendance monitoring and recording for Dietetic staff.
- To provide expert Dietetic advice, teaching and training to other staff members, both clinically trained and otherwise, both internal and external to the Trust.
