Role Overview:

RBUK Legal Limited is seeking a skilled Housing Disrepair Fee Earner to join their team in Blackburn. As a key member of the firm, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of housing disrepair matters, providing expert advice and guidance to clients, and advocating for fair resolutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of housing disrepair matters, including both pre-litigated and litigated files, to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Act on behalf of tenants in disputes with landlords, utilizing strong communication and negotiation skills to protect their rights and achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, draft comprehensive legal documents, and correspond with clients, landlords, and other relevant parties to ensure seamless case management.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on housing disrepair issues, including property inspections and assessments, to inform their decision-making.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to achieve shared goals and objectives, ensuring a cohesive and effective approach to case management.
  • Utilize case management systems, including Proclaim, to maintain accurate and organized case files, ensuring efficient and effective case management.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and negotiations, utilizing strong advocacy skills to achieve favorable outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing a caseload of housing disrepair matters, with a strong understanding of tenant rights and landlord-tenant disputes.
  • Knowledge and experience of using case management systems, with experience in Proclaim being advantageous, to ensure efficient and effective case management.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate effectively on behalf of clients, to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently manage workload, prioritizing tasks and deadlines to ensure timely and effective resolution.
  • Legal qualification or relevant experience in housing law or a related field is desirable, with a strong understanding of relevant legislation and case law.
