Job Title: Head of Housing Disrepair

Themis Recruit is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Housing Disrepair Department as the Head of Housing Disrepair. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the effective management and resolution of housing disrepair cases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strategic Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to the Housing Disrepair Department, ensuring the efficient management and resolution of housing disrepair cases.
  • Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Client Relationships: Foster strong relationships with clients, including tenants, landlords, and legal representatives, to facilitate the efficient resolution of housing disrepair cases.
  • Team Management: Manage a team of professionals, including solicitors, paralegals, and support staff, providing guidance, mentorship, and training as required.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments within the organization to streamline processes and ensure efficient service delivery to clients.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated with changes in housing laws and regulations, proactively adapting department strategies to reflect these changes.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor department performance, analyze key metrics, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and achieve departmental goals.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Ideally, you will be a qualified Solicitor or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. However, candidates with experience running a caseload post-litigation will also be considered.
  • Civil Litigation Experience: Civil litigation experience and good working knowledge of the civil procedure rules and fast track.
  • Industry Knowledge: Experience of advising on legal issues within an in-house legal environment or similar.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient user of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
