Head of Housing Disrepair

Themis Recruit is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Housing Disrepair department. As the Head of Housing Disrepair, you will be responsible for overseeing the effective management and resolution of housing disrepair cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to the housing disrepair team, ensuring the efficient management and resolution of housing disrepair cases.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, including tenants, landlords, and legal representatives, to facilitate the efficient resolution of housing disrepair cases.
  • Manage a team of professionals, including solicitors, paralegals, and support staff, and provide guidance, mentorship, and training as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments within the organization to streamline processes and ensure efficient service delivery to clients.
  • Stay updated with changes in housing laws and regulations and proactively adapt department strategies to reflect these changes.
  • Monitor department performance, analyze key metrics, and implement improvements to enhance productivity and achieve departmental goals.
Requirements
  • A qualified Solicitor or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives, or experienced professionals with a strong background in housing disrepair.
  • Civil litigation experience and good working knowledge of the civil procedure rules and fast track.
  • Experience of advising on legal issues within an in-house legal environment or similar.
  • Proficient user of Microsoft packages, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams.
