Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Sunderland

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary School in Sunderland. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons across the KS1 curriculum.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide support to the class teacher in delivering lessons and enhancing learning experiences for children.
  • Work one-on-one or with small groups of children to address their individual needs and promote academic progress.
  • Assist in the preparation of learning materials and classroom activities to create a stimulating environment.
  • Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere, promoting social interaction and positive behavior.
  • Observe and assess students' progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  • Support children with special educational needs (SEN) and ensure all pupils can access learning in an inclusive environment.
Requirements:
  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 2 or 3) is preferred.
  • Experience working with children in KS1 or a similar setting is desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children's education and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and take initiative when required.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
