Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Prospero Teaching. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in one of our inspirational SEN Schools in Sunderland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support students with a wide range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, and SEMH, on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Manage challenging behavior in a positive and consistent manner.
  • Differentiate learning to suit the needs and learning styles of students.
  • Build positive relationships with Class Teachers and other Learning Support Assistants to provide outstanding levels of support to students.
  • Have a 'hands-on' approach to supporting students in their learning, with a willingness to interact with students and engage with them.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service).
  • A childcare-based qualification (although not essential).
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with students and staff.
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature.
  • Experience in classrooms supporting students.
  • High levels of enthusiasm, energy, and positivity when working with students.
  • A genuine passion for helping young people to fulfill their potential and flourish in education.
