Prospero Teaching is working with an outstanding Primary School in Sunderland to find a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time and long-term basis.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to inspire and support pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, working closely with Class Teachers to develop effective strategies and learning activities that promote pupil progress.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a proactive and resilient practitioner to make a positive difference in the lives of children every day.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils with challenging behaviour and SEND on a 1:1 basis and in small groups
  • Managing challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
  • Building positive relationships with Class Teachers to discuss and implement strategies and learning activities
  • Preparing resources for lessons
  • Supervising pupils at break times and lunch times as required
Requirements
  • An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service)
  • A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification (Level 3 ideal, but Level 2 will also be considered)
  • Experience of working as a Teaching Assistant within Schools in the UK
  • An ability to build positive relationships and a rapport with pupils and staff
  • A resilient, proactive, and positive nature
