Amentum is a leading global technical and engineering services company, renowned for its operational excellence, mission focus, and successful execution underpinned by a strong culture of safety and ethics.We are currently seeking a Health Physics Supervisor to join our team on a major project, located in a secure facility.Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and support the Health Physics team in maintaining radiological oversight and control of assigned areas, ensuring adequate services can be provided in normal, abnormal, and emergency conditions.
  • Supervise and assist with decommissioning activities, including entries into areas with respiratory protective equipment.
  • Conduct Health Physics Surveys (radiation and contamination) and complete comprehensive reports.
  • Utilize air sampling equipment and ensure the functioning of Health Physics survey equipment.
  • Direct, supervise, and provide Health Physics coverage of operations, and direct Health Physics surveyors and monitors.
  • Ensure Health Physics Clearance of items removed from controlled areas.
  • Maintain stock of Respiratory Protective Equipment/Personal Protection Equipment.
  • Perform contamination controlled area dresser barrier duties, including organizing laundry of clothing.
  • Instruct trainee surveyors.
  • Radiological coaching of staff with whom they work.
  • Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • City and Guilds level 1 radiological protection certification.
  • Proven surveying experience, ideally with air-fed suit operations.
  • Proven knowledge of Radiological Protection, Decommissioning activities, and radioactive waste management.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to a changing work environment.
  • IOSH Managing Safely certification desirable.
The successful applicant must be a British national and eligible to hold a DV level of security clearance.
