Position Summary:
We are seeking a Photography Manager to oversee our talented studio team on a temporary basis. This role is pivotal in managing a group of photographers and retouchers, ensuring the production of exceptional imagery that supports our ecommerce and marketing efforts across the Barbour brand portfolio. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in ecommerce photography and experience in team leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the in-house photography and retouching team to produce outstanding visual content.
- Develop and implement training programs for team members, fostering skill enhancement and professional growth.
- Promote a culture of excellence and continuous improvement in photographic practices.
- Maintain and refine the studio's technical standards for photography and retouching.
- Ensure adherence to creative and commercial photographic guidelines, including archiving processes.
- Collaborate with the Senior Studio Producer to manage the photography team's workload and meet deadlines.
- Delegate tasks effectively to maintain project timelines.
- Oversee quality control for all imagery produced, ensuring high standards in naming conventions and retouching quality.
- Manage the studio's annual equipment budget and maintain all studio resources.
- Coordinate with the Production Team to ensure seamless pre and post-shoot processes.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and set objectives for the photography team.
- Ensure the upkeep of all studio equipment and resources.
- Perform additional duties as required by management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Photography.
- Proven experience in a fast-paced fashion retail ecommerce environment.
- Expertise in both on and off-model ecommerce photography.
- Prior management experience is essential.
- Strong knowledge of photography, retouching, and lighting techniques.
- Proficiency in Photoshop and Capture One.
- Ability to train and mentor others in photographic techniques.
- Familiarity with MAC operating systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-motivated with strong leadership skills.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to achieving high-quality results.
