Overview

We are seeking an individual dedicated to maintaining our accommodations and the holiday park to the highest standards. This role involves repairing, maintaining, renewing, and enhancing everything from signage at the entrance to the perimeter fencing.

With features such as resident alpacas, a bush-craft school, and forest laser tag, our park is designed for both adventure and relaxation. Our Retreat spa and charming lodges provide the perfect setting for guests to unwind.

Responsibilities

In collaboration with the Maintenance Manager, you will ensure that all facilities are functioning optimally. Your tasks will include:

  • Carpentry work, including the repair of doors, windows, kitchen units, walls, floors, signage, roofs, and gutters.
  • Landscaping duties, such as paving and fencing.
  • Relocating and positioning caravans, including external plumbing tasks.
  • Painting, decorating, and tiling.
  • General maintenance tasks, from changing light bulbs to troubleshooting locks and cutting keys.
  • Conducting maintenance checks and repairs during changeover days, collaborating with other tradespeople as needed.
  • Addressing a variety of tasks that may arise.

Guests and staff will rely on your expertise to resolve issues and restore order, so a friendly and confident demeanor, along with practical skills, is essential.

Please note that holidays occur during peak times, requiring flexibility to work on bank holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Required Skills and Experience

While training will be provided, the following qualifications are necessary for this position:

  • Proven experience in building maintenance and carpentry.
  • Competence in domestic repairs and maintenance, including tiling, painting, and lock repairs.
  • Understanding of Health & Safety regulations in the workplace.
  • A solid educational background, ideally to GCSE standard or equivalent.

In addition, the ability to think independently, demonstrate initiative, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and maintain high standards of craftsmanship are crucial.
