Overview:

You will play a vital role in enhancing the Leisure team by overseeing, managing, and ensuring the safety of patrons at all times, particularly in the aquatic environment, while delivering top-notch customer service to all visitors.

Sandy Balls Holiday Park is renowned not just for its distinctive name but also for its exceptional location. Nestled in the picturesque New Forest, it is a hidden treasure just a short distance from various towns.

The operations at Sandy Balls are diverse, encompassing everything from swimming facilities, play areas, retail shops, entertainment venues, to sports and leisure amenities, with a plethora of indoor and outdoor activities available throughout the year.

Key Responsibilities:

Your primary duty will be to assist in the operation of the leisure centre, aiming for maximum revenue while ensuring an outstanding customer experience through a motivated and skilled team that maintains excellent cleanliness standards.

In collaboration with the Leisure Manager, Assistant Leisure Manager, and other Duty Managers, you will:

  • Actively promote and market the business, consistently seeking ways to boost sales and enhance customer service.
  • Supervise, train, and inspire all team members during your shift to ensure the smooth and effective operation of the centre, while upholding exceptional customer care that reflects the centre's image.
  • Maintain and elevate the highest standards of service and safety within the leisure centre.
  • Oversee the security of facilities, cleanliness and maintenance of the centre, operation of equipment, water quality assessments, stock management, and ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and emergency protocols.
  • Handle financial transactions and cash reconciliation, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Centre Management to ensure the efficient operation of the Centre's services, including emergency procedures.
  • Ensure a high level of cleanliness is upheld throughout the centre according to established cleaning schedules and standards.
  • Monitor and safeguard the safety and well-being of both customers and staff, ensuring appropriate conduct and usage of the Centre.

This outline serves as a guide to the responsibilities involved. The successful candidate must be flexible and adaptable to meet the evolving needs of Sandy Balls Leisure Club.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Training will be provided, but candidates must possess:

  • A current valid NPLQ and First Aid at Work certification, along with experience in backwashing and knowledge of COSHH.
  • A solid educational background, ideally to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and strong communication skills.
  • A customer-centric approach.
  • Keen attention to detail and high standards.

Desirable:

  • Pool Plant Operator (PPO), National Pool Management Qualification (NPMQ) or equivalent, Fire Warden training.
