We are seeking a Band 4 Phlebotomy Supervisor to enhance our workforce at Basildon and Thurrock University Hospital, Southend University Hospital, and various community clinics across South Essex. In this supervisory role, you will oversee the daily operations of phlebotomy personnel in outpatient settings, hospital wards, and community environments, including home visits.

Your responsibilities will include working across multiple locations, with variable shifts scheduled between 6:15 AM and 7 PM, Monday through Friday, along with regular weekend duties on a rotational basis.

This position is ideal for an individual who possesses experience, compassion, and a friendly demeanor, and who is eager to contribute to patient care. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for effective collaboration with a diverse team across various departments.

A valid driving license and access to a personal vehicle are mandatory, as travel to different community clinic sites will be required. Candidates selected for this position will be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Qualifications and Experience Required:

  • 3 GCSE 'O' levels or equivalent, including English
  • At least 12 months of prior phlebotomy experience
  • Certification in phlebotomy
  • Experience with pediatric patients
  • Experience in domiciliary settings
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience
  • Exceptional communication skills and a professional, caring attitude, with the ability to perform under pressure
  • Proficient written and spoken English language skills
  • Prior experience and confidence in using IT applications, including Microsoft Office and Outlook
  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for work purposes

Desirable Qualifications:

  • 5 GCSE 'O' levels (Grades A-C) or equivalent, including English and Science
  • Previous experience in a hospital patient-facing role
  • Basic knowledge and competency in CPR and First Aid
