About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Engineer to join our dynamic team on a permanent basis. As a key member of our production operations team, you will play a crucial role in maintaining seamless production operations, supporting equipment across multiple departments, and ensuring compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Good Engineering Practice (GEP) standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process Improvement: Serve as a key resource in packaging serialization and commercial equipment, improving processes and performance metrics.
  • Production Support: Provide support during audits, production operations, and handle equipment breakdowns, including managing overtime.
  • Equipment Management: Oversee contractors and equipment suppliers during installations, repairs, and calibrations.
  • Equipment Development: Assist in the development, installation, and validation of new equipment.
  • Technical Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams and machine suppliers to resolve technical issues, occasionally requiring supplier visits.
  • Health and Safety: Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, conducting risk assessments and reporting near-miss incidents.
  • Technical Skills: Perform light assembly, machine shop work, and fault-finding for electrical systems and PLCs.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: NVQ Level 3, HND, or higher in Electrical Engineering or equivalent, with 17th or 18th edition wiring regulations.
  • Experience: Experience with serialization and commercial equipment.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Strong diagnostic skills, particularly with Siemens PLC/HMI.
  • Problem-Solving: Proven problem-solving abilities with a strong understanding of engineering standards.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent IT skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Continuous Improvement: Experience with Continuous Improvement (CI) tools such as 5S and Kaizen.
