Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Crane Operations Manager. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of railway work sites, in compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site Safety Management
    • Act as the primary point of contact for site safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
    • Control and manage access to the railway work site, ensuring that only authorized personnel are present.
    • Implement and monitor safety measures to protect the workforce and the public.
  • Communication and Coordination
    • Liaise with Network Rail, project managers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that all site activities are coordinated and executed safely.
    • Maintain clear and effective communication with site personnel, ensuring everyone is aware of safety protocols and potential hazards.
    • Provide detailed safety briefings and updates to all site staff and visitors.
  • Risk Assessment
    • Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks on the work site.
    • Monitor the work site for potential hazards and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
  • Compliance
    • Ensure all activities on the site comply with Network Rail standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
    • Keep accurate records of all site activities, safety briefings, and incidents, and report them to the relevant authorities.
  • Additional Responsibilities
    • Supervise the movements of OTPs.
    • Briefed and authorized to perform the role of Machine Controllers / Crane Controller.
    • Promote the Pod-Trak Values, and PALs Behavioural Based Safety programme in all aspects of your role with Pod-Trak.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • COSS (Controller of Site Safety) Certification: Must be fully qualified and certified as a COSS (OLP & CRP)
  • MC Group 1 & 4 MEWP Experience: Proven experience in working within MC Group 1 (Individual competence in management and control of the safety of persons working on or near the line) and MC Group 4 (Track safety COSS)
  • CC Group 3 & 6 Experience: Demonstrated competence and experience within CC Group 3 (Personal track safety PTS) and CC Group 6 (Worksite protection, including protection of personnel working on or near the line)
