Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crane Controller to join our team at Pod-Trak Ltd. As a Crane Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation of cranes on our construction sites.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Site Safety Management: Act as the primary point of contact for site safety, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols.
  2. Communication and Coordination: Liaise with Network Rail, project managers, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure that all site activities are coordinated and executed safely.
  3. Risk Assessment: Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks on the work site. Monitor the work site for potential hazards and take immediate corrective action when necessary.
  4. Compliance: Ensure all activities on the site comply with Network Rail standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
  5. Responsible to POS Representative: An understanding of safety management, the company safety management system, and an awareness of behavioural safety. Briefed and authorised to perform the role of Machine Controllers / Crane Controller. An understanding of the risks associated with OTP operations, ALO working, lifting operations (Crane Controllers only), incident awareness/ reporting.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

  1. COSS (Controller of Site Safety) Certification: Must be fully qualified and certified as a COSS (OLP & CRP)
  2. MC Group 1 & 4 MEWP Experience: Proven experience in working within MC Group 1 (Individual competence in management and control of the safety of persons working on or near the line) and MC Group 4 (Track safety - COSS).
  3. CC Group 3 & 6 Experience: Demonstrated competence and experience within CC Group 3 (Personal track safety - PTS) and CC Group 6 (Worksite protection, including protection of personnel working on or near the line).
