Verification and Validation Engineer - Payload/SATCOM

At Capgemini Engineering, we are seeking a skilled Verification and Validation Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for creating and executing test cases for satellite/payload testing (SDR - Software Defined Radio).

About the Role

We are looking for an engineer with a strong understanding of space systems and satellite communication principles, protocols, and technologies. You will work closely with our HW V&V team and have direct interaction with the Test Development team, ensuring effective communication and conveying information to stakeholders with expertise in both hardware and software domains.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute test cases for payload software testing, with a focus on satellite communication.
  • Collaborate with the HW V&V team to ensure correct communication flow and convey information to stakeholders.
  • Work with the Test Development team to develop and execute test cases for satellite/payload testing.
  • Ensure compliance with CCSDS or ECSS standards for Telecommand and Telemetry.
  • Develop and execute automated systems validation/regression testing.
  • Experience with protocol simulators and Java programming is mandatory.
  • Good knowledge of real-time operating systems, systems programming, concurrency, and scheduling.
  • Experience working with open-source development stacks (Eclipse / Github / openjdk).

Your Security Clearance

To be successfully appointed to this role, it is a requirement to obtain Security Check (SC) clearance. You must have resided continuously within the United Kingdom for the last 5 years, along with other criteria and requirements.
