Job Summary

Woman's Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Public Affairs/Policy Officer to join our Communications team. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with our CEO, Senior Communications Manager, and Research and Data Team to design, manage, and deliver a cutting-edge policy agenda and stakeholder outreach programme.

About the Role

This is a pivotal time to join Woman's Trust as we strive to generate more awareness of our work and influence public policy to ensure that survivors of domestic abuse have access to specialist mental health support. As a Public Affairs/Policy Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive policy agenda that aligns with our organisational goals and objectives
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, and industry experts
  • Designing and delivering stakeholder outreach programmes to promote our work and influence policy decisions
  • Providing strategic advice and support to our CEO and Senior Communications Manager on policy and communications matters

Key Responsibilities

As a Public Affairs/Policy Officer, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting research and analysis on policy issues relevant to our work
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, policymakers, and industry experts
  • Designing and delivering stakeholder outreach programmes to promote our work and influence policy decisions
  • Providing strategic advice and support to our CEO and Senior Communications Manager on policy and communications matters

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Proven experience in public affairs, policy, or a related field
  • Strong knowledge of policy development and implementation
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
