Job Summary

Fugro is seeking a highly skilled Project Geotechnical Engineer to join our Client Deliverables Department in the United Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise routine offshore site investigations and prepare field, laboratory, and engineering reports in accordance with company procedures, health and safety, and quality policies.
  • Participate in the team and/or supervise offshore site investigations, prepare field, laboratory, soil parameters, and engineering reports in accordance with company procedures, health and safety, and quality policies.
  • Travel internationally and work offshore, typically for 60 to 90 days per year, to perform standard and specialized in situ and offshore laboratory testing, collect, process, and analyze soil and/or rock samples.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate and/or postgraduate degree in civil engineering, engineering geology, or geology or related discipline.
  • Basic knowledge of in situ and soil or rock data acquisition, including soils and/or rock description.
  • Knowledge of geology and soil mechanics.
  • Entry-level experience in geotechnical data acquisition projects with some laboratory testing knowledge.
  • Associate membership of an appropriate professional body.
  • Computer literate and basic ability to use spreadsheets and plotting software.
  • Ability to generate a safe and quality-based culture within the offshore and onshore teams.
  • Good communicator to deliver results for internal and external clients.
  • A good team player and able to form working relationships with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of in situ and soil or rock data acquisition, including soils and/or rock description and testing, and reporting.
  • Knowledge of soil and/or rock laboratory testing and foundation engineering.
  • Proven ability to plan own workload and professional development.
