Position Overview

The Marketing Manager will spearhead a dedicated team to execute exceptional multi-channel marketing strategies and optimize high-performing websites for our B2B media and events divisions.

Effective marketing is crucial for retaining current clients and attracting new ones, ensuring that our B2B events and media offerings remain distinctive and lucrative.

The ideal candidate will possess proven expertise in leveraging the marketing mix within the B2B sector—product, pricing, distribution, and promotion—to enhance community engagement and drive sales growth.

Awards International boasts an internal team of marketing project managers, graphic designers, web developers, and editorial, sales, and events professionals.

Founded in 2008, Awards International has established a robust reputation in the B2B awards and customer experience (CX) sector. The organization has historically focused on organizing independent business awards that emphasize customer experience, employee engagement, sustainability, and business excellence.

Registered in the UK, the company operates across various regions, including the UK, UAE, US, EU, Turkey, and Serbia. In 2012, it launched the world’s first specialized CX publication, Customer Experience Magazine.

Currently, Awards International manages 10 awards programs and has developed 2 franchises.

The company’s reputation is built on unique intellectual property and trademarks related to award processes and judging criteria, known for their integrity and fairness, earning high regard among target audiences.

Our immediate goal is to expand the media aspect of the business through Customer Experience Magazine, utilizing our distinctive capabilities to integrate our four business elements: Business Community, Awards IP, Media Platforms, and Software Development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ongoing enhancements in Product, Pricing, Distribution, and Promotion for events and media.
  • Oversee customer research and insights to inform the marketing mix.
  • Design and execute comprehensive marketing plans for events and media.
  • Meet customer acquisition and retention objectives.
  • Direct website development, conversion rate optimization, cross-selling initiatives, user experience improvements, and traffic growth.
  • Supervise a team of marketing project managers and graphic designers.
  • Collaborate closely with the Editor-in-Chief on media content planning and execution.
  • Ensure that all content and digital assets are produced to the highest standards of B2B English.
  • Develop essential components of sales strategies and implement CRM systems.
  • Manage marketing budgets for campaigns and team operations.
  • Lead the recruitment of partners to drive growth.
  • Oversee partner relationships and execute strategic plans.

General Responsibilities

  1. Create customer personas for each awards program, considering factors such as company size, decision-makers, industry, geographical location, needs, and budget.
  2. Analyze customer feedback and behavior.
  3. Conduct competitor analysis regarding categories, pricing, event formats, locations, and venues.
  4. Based on insights from customer feedback and competitor analysis, propose themes, categories, and pricing for awards/events.
  5. Develop marketing campaigns that resonate with and engage target customer personas.
  6. Provide briefs to Marketing Project Managers for newsletter content creation.
  7. Draft content for various promotional materials.
  8. Collaborate with events and editorial teams to create event agendas.
  9. Work closely with the sales team to secure speakers for events.
  10. Be open to hosting events and conducting interviews with customers in both online and in-person formats.
  11. Establish digital marketing campaigns across owned, shared, and paid media, utilizing tools to optimize our websites for search and increase traffic.
  12. Set performance targets for the marketing team that align with sales objectives, including lead generation, conversion rates, and social media engagement.
  13. Oversee the structure and content of awards websites, ensuring clarity of value propositions for entrants, judges, and sponsors.
  14. Manage a team of graphic designers, providing briefs for the creation of graphics for websites, social media, and email campaigns.
  15. Lead the marketing project managers to execute successful marketing initiatives.
  16. Report directly to the COO of the organization.

Technical Requirements

  1. A sophisticated understanding of SEO to maximize content benefits for websites and campaigns.
  2. A high level of proficiency in digital campaigns, user experience, and Google Analytics.

Additional Experience and Requirements

  1. A minimum of 10 years in a marketing management role within events and media.
  2. At least 5 years of experience in the B2B sector.
  3. Remote role based in the UK.
  4. Willingness to travel for business to attend events in various countries.

Interview Process
