Position Overview:

A part-time position for a Community Support Specialist has opened in South Ribble. Reporting to a Senior Family Support Worker, the successful candidate will collaborate with team members to assist in the effective operation of Early Help Service neighborhood center activities for children, adults, young people, and families.

The role includes providing a welcoming front-facing service to all users at designated Neighbourhood Centre sites, addressing general inquiries and guiding service users as needed. Responsibilities will involve applying standardized procedures and utilizing relevant tools to ensure that users are directed to appropriate activities and that their access needs are met.

Additionally, the post holder will manage appointment scheduling, room allocations, and group bookings using IT systems for the Early Help Service and partner organizations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Monitoring safety protocols for staff involved in outreach and home visits.
  • Recording service user information related to neighborhood center services and updating the Early Help Service management information system.
  • Maintaining an overview of health and safety within the operating environment and addressing any issues promptly.
  • Collaborating with Neighbourhood Group Workers to ensure a suitable environment for service users, including hygiene, information displays, and physical layout.
  • Assisting with the maintenance of facility standards, including basic testing and risk assessments, in conjunction with premises managers.
  • Supporting delivery sessions and services as needed to ensure appropriate supervision and participant support.

The successful candidate will build positive relationships with service users, fostering mutual trust and respect. This role contributes to the continuous improvement of early help services for children, young people, and families, aligning with the vision set forth by the Children and Families Partnership Board.
