**Job Summary**
The Lancashire County Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to fill the role of Passenger Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing safe and dignified transportation services to passengers with disabilities and sensory impairments.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Assist passengers with disabilities and sensory impairments in a safe and caring manner, ensuring their welfare and maintaining their dignity.
- Provide care duties associated with transport services, including assisting passengers to prepare for their journey and ensuring their safety and comfort while on the vehicle.
- Work collaboratively with the team to deliver high-quality transportation services.
- Operate the vehicle tailgate-lift during the boarding and alighting of passengers in wheelchairs, following established procedures.
- Ensure the safe application of wheelchair clamps and straps and other specialist equipment.
- Adhere to all communication issued by the service and complete records as required by Integrated Transport procedures.
**Requirements**
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment. You will also need to be physically fit and able to lift and assist passengers as required.
