About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Politics and Public Affairs Advisor to join our team at Save the Children UK. As a key member of our Politics and Public Affairs team, you will play a vital role in fostering relationships with Parliamentarians and ensuring government accountability.

Your primary responsibility will be to build and maintain relationships with Parliamentarians, raising Save the Children's profile in Westminster and promoting awareness of the issues we work on among a wider political audience. You will also provide clear political intelligence to inform our campaign strategies, developing political influencing strategies for specific campaigns and collaborating with colleagues to ensure that campaigning and advocacy are integrated.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and delivering written and oral briefings to MPs, peers, government officials, and other decision-makers on key policies and campaigns.
  • Project managing and delivering political events with key stakeholders.
  • Providing sound political judgement to inform policy positions and ensuring that our advocacy efforts are aligned with Save the Children's strategic priorities.

We are looking for a candidate with a strong interest and understanding of domestic social policy, experience working to influence structures, trends, and processes in the UK Political system, and a proven track record of establishing relationships with Parliamentarians.
