We are looking for a dedicated and proactive individual to fill the position of Administrative Support Specialist. The ideal candidate will possess strong computer skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
This position encompasses a variety of responsibilities, including both administrative and reception tasks, aimed at supporting Midwives and other staff in a fast-paced environment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of the unit, which will involve functions typical of a ward clerk, receptionist, and clerical officer. Flexibility in working hours is essential, as the role requires early morning, late evening, night shifts, and weekend availability, with additional compensation for out-of-hours work.
Key Responsibilities
Your primary duties will include:
- Providing a professional front-of-house service as the initial point of contact for patients and visitors.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of all interactions while delivering exceptional customer service.
- Collecting and maintaining high-quality data throughout the patient's journey, including admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Preparing and organizing patient case notes for the clinical team, ensuring they are readily available and properly documented.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- GCSE at Grade C in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications) or relevant experience.
- Experience in an office setting and in a public-facing role.
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2 in Administration or Customer Care.
- Relevant experience within the NHS.
Skills and Knowledge

- Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting with staff at all levels.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Further Training
