Claims Handler Role at Crawford & Company

We are seeking a skilled Claims Handler to join our team at Crawford & Company, a leading provider of claims and business solutions. As a Claims Handler, you will play a critical role in delivering exceptional service to our clients and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Claims Management: Receive and acknowledge new claims, ensuring timely and effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities for growth and development, and market existing and new business lines.
  • Case Management: Prepare case management plans, visit clients, brokers, claimants, and other relevant parties to gather information and assess claims.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Prepare detailed reports on claims, including policy analysis, liability, quantum, and future actions.
  • Investigation and Research: Visit sites, interview witnesses, and prepare witness statements to support claims.
  • Expert Management: Instruct and control surveyors, lawyers, forensic scientists, and other experts as necessary.
  • Client Communication: Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders, calculating and approving interim payments, and preparing interim reports.
  • Relationship Building: Develop working relationships with clients and identify opportunities for new business.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date files and records, staying informed of technical and legal changes that may impact claims.
Requirements
  • Communication and Customer Service: Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and stakeholders.
  • Organizational and Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Problem-Solving and Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Technical Skills: Competent use of technology, with the ability to learn new systems and software.
  • Qualifications and Experience: ACII and/or ACILA qualification, with experience in engineering and construction liability claims and/or contractors' risks.
