English Teacher Role

We are seeking a qualified English Teacher to support students with social, emotional, and mental health related barriers to learning at a specialist education school in Fenland.

About the Role
  • Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons to support students' progress
  • Set clear targets for students' learning, considering each student's individual needs
  • Develop expert knowledge in English and plan to meet the special educational needs of students
  • Enable all students to understand key English concepts, effectively checking understanding and correcting misunderstandings
  • Assess student work and progress, giving regular feedback and using this to inform teaching
  • Prioritise reading to develop students' fluency, confidence, and enjoyment
  • Develop subject-specific schemes of work for all year groups
  • Build learning towards an end point that leads into the next stage of education, training, or employment
  • Report on student progress in line with school policy
  • Maintain a stimulating, engaging, and safe learning environment
  • Manage behaviour in line with school policy
  • Undertake a pastoral and support role as required
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school
  • Take responsibility for your own professional development
