Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work in a rotational scheme, providing specialist physiotherapy services in respiratory medicine, cardiothoracic surgery, and paediatric respiratory and surgical services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients with diverse presentations, providing a diagnosis and delivering an individualized treatment program.
  • Manage a defined area of service or a particular patient type, working with direct supervision.
  • Supervise, educate, and assess the performance of physiotherapy students and therapy assistants.
  • Undertake evidence-based audit, formulate guidelines, and research projects to further clinical practice within each rotation.
  • Use evidence-based principles and current best practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate interventions.
  • Consolidate and develop knowledge and skills through participation in continuous professional development (CPD).

Requirements:

  • Good organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work as a member of a team.
  • Regular supervision, training, and support from highly skilled senior physiotherapists.
  • Excellent opportunities for CPD and team members are encouraged to attend and present at national and international conferences.

Working Arrangements:

  • Participate in the Band 5 rotational scheme, working across the Trust in a range of critical care, ward settings, and outpatient clinics.
  • Work as an autonomous practitioner, with regular supervision from a supervisor.

Person Specification:

  • Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP) membership.
  • Postgraduate qualification in physiotherapy or equivalent.
  • Experience in respiratory medicine and cardiothoracic surgery.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
